Responsibilities
- Own the developer platform end-to-end for a multidisciplinary team developing an autonomous surgical robot.
- Design, build, operate, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines across Python, C++, and TypeScript codebases.
- Manage on-premises Ubuntu servers, GPU workstations, supporting network systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Improve local development environments, build systems, package management, test reliability, and overall developer productivity.
- Integrate hardware-in-the-loop testing into CI workflows for system-level regression testing.
- Harden infrastructure security across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Support GPU compute pipelines, experiment tracking, model deployment, training, data processing, and remote services.
- Partner with software, ML, hardware, and data teams to optimize tooling and workflows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering on complex production systems.
- Experience operating CI/CD pipelines for polyglot codebases, including GitHub Actions, complex workflow development, and runner tradeoff evaluation.
- Strong Linux systems administration experience and proficiency with infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Advanced Python proficiency with the ability to contribute to C++ and TypeScript codebases.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent platforms.
- Proficiency with modern developer tooling and AI-assisted coding environments such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach to improving engineering productivity.
- Preferred experience includes robotics, embedded systems, scientific computing, hardware-dependent testing, ML pipeline orchestration, self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, Python monorepo tooling, C++ dependency and packaging systems, real-time Linux, audit-ready and reproducible build systems, regulated industries, Docker, and Kubernetes.
