Base Salary
$240k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year technical vision and strategy for the Core Transfer Experience organization.
- Lead architecture reviews, RFCs, architectural decision records, and cross-team technical alignment.
- Drive modernization and incremental migration of high-traffic send-flow systems and experience layers.
- Set standards for reliability, latency, quality, SLOs, error budgets, observability, and operational tooling.
- Establish architectural foundations for conversational, agentic, AI-native, and experimental product capabilities.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers, contribute hands-on code and analysis, and resolve cross-domain technical issues.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and operating large-scale customer-facing distributed systems.
- Expertise in backend service architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, and data models, with real experience in mobile using React Native or native technologies and/or web experience layers.
- Demonstrated leadership of large modernization or re-architecture efforts on high-traffic production systems using incremental migration and strangler patterns.
- Experience setting technical strategy across multiple teams, influencing roadmaps, and driving organization-wide architectural decisions.
- Strong operational experience owning SLOs for systems where downtime has direct customer and business impact.
- Preferred experience includes fintech, payments, regulated or trust-critical domains; conversational, agentic, or AI-native products; experimentation and conversion optimization; global localized products; and engineering publications, talks, open source, or tooling.
