Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Set up and manage Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Error Reporting for observability.
- Automate operational tasks and develop platform integrations and utilities using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, and Git.
- Apply IAM, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Armor, and other security best practices.
- Review application, infrastructure, and CI/CD code to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, misconfigurations, and operational risks.
- Use Docker, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and related technologies to improve deployment automation and operational practices.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to DevOps documentation and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with 5-8 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 2-5 years of equivalent industry experience or a PhD with 0-2 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and version control systems such as Git.
- Strong scripting and programming skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, and Git.
- Ability to analyze application code such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python and work with APIs.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools including Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
- Preferred qualifications include GCP certifications, Anthos, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux, hybrid or multi-cloud experience, and familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
