Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer compiled software and firmware to understand behavior, interfaces, and system-level implementation.
- Perform static and dynamic analysis using disassembly, debugging, tracing, and emulation.
- Develop and maintain Python and C/C++ tools and scripts to automate analysis, extract parameters, and validate hypotheses.
- Design and implement lightweight test and instrumentation software to control assets, collect telemetry, and support test and evaluation events.
- Document findings in technical reports with diagrams, evidence, limitations, and recommended next steps.
- Collaborate with electronic warfare, RF/DSP, embedded, and test engineers to translate reverse-engineering results into engineering decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in reverse engineering, binary analysis, malware analysis, or low-level software and firmware analysis.
- Hands-on experience with disassemblers and debuggers such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, WinDbg, gdb, or lldb.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python, with working knowledge of assembly such as x86/x64 or ARM.
- Experience with embedded systems, interfaces such as UART/JTAG/SWD and SPI/I2C, and interpreting logs and telemetry.
- Ability to communicate technical findings effectively in writing and technical reviews.
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required; TS/SCI is preferred.
- A master’s degree, equivalent advanced experience, electronic warfare or RF/DSP knowledge, FPGA/DSP-adjacent development, hardware/software integration, lab or field test automation, and customer-facing reporting or briefing experience are preferred.
