Base Salary
$210k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement systems for usage metering, pricing logic, credits, and admin-facing billing dashboards.
- Provide technical leadership across billing data pipelines, backend services, and web user experiences.
- Drive the evolution of Glean’s consumption and Flex pricing infrastructure with strong correctness, reliability, and debuggability.
- Partner with Finance, Pricing, RevOps, Product, Data, and Go-To-Market to translate pricing strategy into technical designs and workflows.
- Define guardrails for LLM and agent costs, including limits, anomaly detection, and margin monitoring.
- Raise engineering quality through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry software engineering experience.
- Experience building platforms and web interfaces, including frontend, APIs, and backend services.
- Meaningful experience with billing, payments, pricing, usage-based or subscription revenue systems, or similarly high-integrity and auditable systems.
- Ability to drive technical direction, make tradeoffs explicit, and align cross-functional stakeholders.
- Expertise in Golang, Java, TypeScript, and SQL is highly desirable.
- Experience with or willingness to learn large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, and their cost structures is beneficial.
- Strong ownership mindset and interest in a product-focused environment.
