Responsibilities
- Elaborate product and system specifications and software architecture with product architecture and systems engineering teams.
- Define functional, operational, interface, and performance software requirements.
- Design software architectures, including functional and structural breakdowns, interfaces, and dynamic behavior.
- Validate solution feasibility through modeling, simulation, or mock-ups.
- Select software tools, methodologies, and coding strategies.
- Perform software integration and testing, including software-software and hardware-software integration.
- Lead software design activities and coordinate with system architects, product designers, quality teams, and safety teams.
- Contribute to technical software delivery across the full lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, ECE, or EEE, or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience managing and leading complex projects with embedded-systems expertise.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience with RTOS environments such as Linux, VxWorks, and QNX, plus hardware-based testing.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP network protocols.
- Understanding of CENELEC SIL4 or DO-178B industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Rail-industry experience is highly desirable; experience in similar industries may also be considered.
- Ability and interest to learn technologies specific to the railway domain.
