Responsibilities
- Read and interpret AV system drawings and gather programming requirements.
- Create control modules, control code, and user interfaces for integrated audio-video systems.
- Install control programs and touch-panel designs onsite, offsite, and remotely.
- Mentor Associate Programmers and review and validate their work.
- Commission and acceptance-test code, test integrated systems, and troubleshoot complex system problems.
- Demonstrate completed systems to clients and create end-user and programming-related documentation.
- Maintain and update programming code in installed systems and maintain code in a version-control repository.
- Use a DevOps platform to track issues, deploy releases, and collaborate on projects.
- Travel to various job sites and perform additional tasks supporting evolving team and organizational priorities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least two years of experience as an AVI-SPL Associate Programmer or three years of similar experience outside AVI-SPL is required.
- Proficiency with test and calibration equipment, programming languages, embedded-system software uploads and downloads, and AV control-system design is required.
- Experience with Crestron, AMX, Extron, and QSC control systems is required.
- Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems, configure and optimize AV equipment, troubleshoot computer networks, work independently, and meet deadlines is required.
- Crestron CTI-P201 or AMX Control Programmer Associate certification or equivalent is required.
- Crestron Technician Fundamentals (CTI-CTF) or equivalent and AVIXA Essentials of AV Technology or equivalent are required.
- A valid driver's license and required vehicle insurance are required for employees operating vehicles for business purposes.
- Formal education in Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- CTS certification and experience with C#, JavaScript, Lua, Python, HTML, PowerShell, Git, and enterprise video-conferencing solutions are preferred.
