Responsibilities
- Define and enforce SRE strategy, standards, SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets across platforms and engagements.
- Lead reliability reviews, toil reduction, operational readiness, and reliability-focused engineering practices.
- Drive automation for monitoring, incident response, recovery, remediation, infrastructure, and operational tooling.
- Act as the technical escalation point for major incidents and high-risk releases, and ensure post-incident improvements are implemented.
- Govern observability, capacity management, service governance, release governance, security alignment, and compliance alignment.
- Identify systemic causes of operational load and ensure services are scalable, secure, and operable.
- Coach and mentor Senior SREs and engineers while providing technical leadership without formal line management.
Requirements
- Deep technical expertise and credibility in large-scale environments and complex, multi-vendor delivery environments.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures, including service mesh such as Istio.
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code and GitOps experience with Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, and Tekton.
- Experience with CI/CD automation and reliability-focused engineering.
- Familiarity with Red Hat ACM, Red Hat ACS, Submariner networking, and enterprise databases such as Postgres.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and mentor across multi-vendor environments.
- Ability to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance and satisfy the requirement for five years of continuous UK residency.
