Responsibilities
- Scale and expand the money movement foundation supporting all Adyen products.
- Provide architecture and design leadership for the Financial Products platform.
- Optimize global banking connections, including licensed banking regions and partner-based markets.
- Design and build new banking rails as Adyen expands its products.
- Mentor engineers and uphold high standards of technical excellence.
- Drive technical innovation and challenge existing approaches.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of hands-on development experience in a modern engineering environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in the financial industry, preferably banking or fintech.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and leading engineering strategy.
- Hands-on experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on coding experience with Java.
- Ability to generalize complex processes and create simple, flexible platform services supporting multiple products.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse, global stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with banking in the EU, UK, or US and with both European and US markets and their regulations.
