Base Salary
$175k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own systems and product areas end to end while serving as the go-to technical expert.
- Investigate, design, and implement solutions across distributed systems with significant autonomy.
- Architect, build, and maintain highly available and scalable backend services and APIs.
- Drive system decoupling, modularization, technical debt reduction, resilience improvements, and elimination of single points of failure.
- Use concurrent autonomous agent workflows and help shape AI integration across engineering workflows and systems.
- Collaborate with product, data, and go-to-market teams in an async-first environment.
- Improve engineering workflows by building tools and internal utilities where they provide compounding leverage.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems and APIs.
- Daily experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent, with the ability to explain their impact on workflow and output.
- Experience with Python, Go, React, TypeScript, Kubernetes, AWS, Datadog, and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Strong command of SQL, relational and NoSQL databases, and thoughtful database modeling.
- Experience building and observing applications on AWS, ideally with Datadog or comparable observability tooling.
- Experience with both 0-to-1 initiatives and complex existing systems.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated output critically, context-switch across concurrent workstreams, and make sound technical tradeoffs.
- Clear, proactive communication with cross-functional partners and async teams.
