Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain BMS control software models using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
- Develop and integrate BMS control algorithms for battery energy-storage systems and generate production-quality embedded code.
- Create and execute MIL, SIL, PIL, open-loop, closed-loop, regression, robustness, and requirement-based test strategies.
- Develop test cases, scenarios, test harnesses, and automated scripts using Simulink Test Manager, MATLAB, and Python.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and track issues through closure.
- Manage requirements and maintain requirements-to-test traceability using IBM DOORS or equivalent tools.
- Perform static code analysis with Polyspace or Parasoft and model-quality checks with Simulink Check.
- Support model reviews, coding-standard compliance, software quality activities, and model-to-code debugging.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in model-based software development, controls software, verification, or related engineering work.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simulink Test Manager, and Simulink Check.
- Strong understanding of model-based development, automatic code generation, BMS architecture, and BMS control algorithms.
- Experience with MIL, SIL, PIL, test automation, requirement-based testing, regression testing, test coverage, and traceability.
- Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements-management tools and Polyspace or Parasoft.
- Strong MATLAB/M-Scripting skills and good Python programming or scripting skills.
- Understanding of C/C++ and embedded software concepts is desirable.
- Preferred experience includes automotive BMS, EV, hybrid vehicle, BESS, Embedded Coder, production code generation, HIL testing, CAN/CAN FD, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, battery testing, battery characterization, battery models, and Git.
