Responsibilities
- Design and develop business logic, APIs, and batch processing.
- Design and develop business flows and business screens.
- Maintain and operate systems supporting Rakuten Cash.
- Lead the engineer organization and promote team improvement activities.
- Coordinate with Rakuten platforms and infrastructure-related application teams.
- Formulate technical guidelines, conduct technical reviews, and train next-generation engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java implementation experience.
- More than 5 years of experience designing and implementing open systems.
- Knowledge and experience with databases and system infrastructure.
- Business-level English or English sufficient to read technical materials and respond to emails and chats.
- Preferred qualifications include mission-critical or consumer-service development and operations, large-scale system experience, curiosity about new services and technologies, payment and points knowledge, and microservice architecture experience.
- Conversational Japanese is preferred.
