Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned controls engineering project scope while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and budget requirements.
- Design and produce PLC software and visualization systems for automated material handling controls.
- Emulate and test PLC control systems in virtual environments.
- Interpret electrical schematics and design inputs and produce associated technical, operational, maintenance, and testing documentation.
- Commission controls systems onsite, support commissioning activities, and train end users.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers and improve processes, time, cost, and quality outcomes.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is desirable; candidates with an HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering will also be considered.
- Experience designing control systems using Siemens S7 or TIA Portal.
- Extensive hands-on experience in an industrial automation environment.
- Good understanding of PLC development tools, distributed control systems, software testing, and emulation.
- Proficiency with industrial networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP, or similar.
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic technical manuals and drawings.
- Understanding of machine directive requirements and relevant standards.
- Experience with E-plan is desirable but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel up to 60% to customer sites in the UK and across EMEA.
