Base Salary
$175k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop the Node.js real-time bidder that decides which ad requests to forward to demand partners
- Build and improve the near-zero-latency throttling layer that acts on bidder decisions
- Maintain the job that aggregates traffic performance and produces the throttle layer
- Analyze billions of bid requests and impressions with SQL to support research
- Develop interpretable gradient-boosted models to identify request features that predict bids
- Translate analytical and modeling findings into real-time rules for the bidder
Requirements
- Strong generalist who can investigate unfamiliar systems and reason from first principles
- Production programming experience with careful attention to performance and correctness
- Expertise in at least one backend programming language and distributed systems
- Fluency in SQL or eagerness to become fluent, with interest in large datasets
- Experience with AdTech/RTB, real-time or low-latency systems, columnar databases, A/B testing, or ML tooling is helpful but not required
- Ability to use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or ChatGPT critically and effectively
