Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software using programming concepts, development processes, and agreed technical and functional specifications.
- Create solutions independently and support other team members in development and design efforts.
- Define and document flow-chart logic, data flow, UML diagrams, specifications, and pseudocode.
- Research, analyze, estimate, troubleshoot, debug, and document software development work.
- Suggest changes and improvements that support system growth and scalability.
- Understand and apply business concepts, business rules, data flows, and database structures for supported systems.
- Participate in developer on-call rotations and provide production support outside normal hours when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of development experience; internal candidates may combine internal and external experience.
- Professional experience reading, developing, and troubleshooting software using languages such as BASIC, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and SQL, plus markup languages such as HTML and XML.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, data structures, algorithms, software development patterns, software design, and architecture.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and UML.
- Ability to understand business needs, apply new technologies, manage multiple priorities, and work independently or collaboratively.
- Preferred experience with multi-value or NoSQL databases and organizations that implement a distribution model.
- Strong planning, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
