Responsibilities
- Design and build Stripe products that support high-growth business and customer needs.
- Write, test, debug, and ship code across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Solve critical production issues across large-scale distributed systems.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, design, operations, stakeholders, and customers.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to peers’ professional growth.
Requirements
- 4–12+ years of experience in backend or platform software development.
- Ability to write high-quality code in languages such as Go, Java, C, or C++.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across team work streams.
- Ability to work with substantial autonomy and responsibility in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Preferred: familiarity with event-driven architectures.
- Preferred: experience with subscription management, usage-based billing, or financial reporting systems.
- Preferred: interest in financial infrastructure and business revenue operations.
- Preferred: direct leadership and mentorship experience.
