Responsibilities
- Design and build a test automation platform for the virtual networking layer of Apple's private cloud platforms.
- Build developer-facing automation infrastructure for end-to-end and functional testing.
- Own test strategy, write test plans, and implement automated unit, integration, and end-to-end test cases.
- Perform scale, performance, and resiliency testing in networked and cloud environments.
- Communicate test strategies, designs, and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Use observability data, including metrics, logging, and tracing, to validate tests and debug issues.
Requirements
- Require 8-12 years of relevant industry experience in test automation or software engineering.
- Require prior experience building developer-facing testing tools or platforms.
- Require experience with scale, performance, and resiliency testing in networked or cloud environments.
- Require a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Prefer experience designing and building test automation frameworks or platforms for end-to-end or functional testing at scale.
- Prefer understanding of cloud-native networking components such as VPCs, peering, transit gateways, service meshes, NATs, and firewalls.
- Prefer proficiency in Go or Python and working knowledge of API design and interface technologies.
- Prefer experience with Kubernetes, OpenStack, system virtualization, and infrastructure as code.
- Prefer familiarity with observability systems and networking solutions across OSI layers 3 through 7.
