Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and modernize complex scalable software features, systems, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
  • Serve as a technical lead by contributing to architecture, technical designs, delivery planning, dependency coordination, and roadmap discussions.
  • Lead sprint-level planning, execution, retrospectives, release readiness, and cross-team coordination.
  • Conduct advanced code reviews and establish software quality, coding, test coverage, and maintainability standards.
  • Mentor, coach, onboard, and support junior and mid-level software engineers.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing and CI/CD pipelines and support deployment and infrastructure automation.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and production stability.
  • Resolve high-priority bugs, incidents, performance bottlenecks, system degradations, and integration issues.
  • Collaborate with product, UX, QA, operations, infrastructure, DevOps, security, database, vendors, and third-party partners.
  • Ensure solutions follow accessibility, cybersecurity, compliance, platform, and architectural standards.
  • Create system diagrams, technical documentation, workflow and API documentation, reports, demonstrations, and release plans.
  • Support end-user training, rollout planning, adoption monitoring, governance activities, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

  • Education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of related professional software development experience.
  • Strong system-level thinking, debugging, architecture, design, leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior software engineers and deliver high-quality, maintainable, user-friendly solutions.
  • Full-stack development experience using modern frameworks such as React, .NET, Node.js, and Python.
  • Programming experience with TypeScript, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or equivalent languages.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, RESTful API development, database design, enterprise application development, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, software development lifecycle practices, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, microservices architecture, monitoring, and cloud-native applications.
  • Skill in automating deployment pipelines, managing infrastructure, and performing debugging and performance tuning.
  • Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Developer Associate, similar cloud certification, or DevOps Foundation Certification.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to provide a 10-year driving history.
  • Ability to pass and maintain eligibility for required national fingerprint-based records checks for access to criminal justice databases.
