Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and modernize complex scalable software features, enterprise applications, and system integrations.
- Lead sprint-level delivery planning, architectural discussions, technical design, estimation, retrospectives, and cross-team coordination.
- Write secure, performant, maintainable code and conduct advanced code reviews while enforcing engineering quality standards.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers and support onboarding, workshops, documentation, and training.
- Develop and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure management practices.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and production health; resolve bugs, incidents, degradations, and bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with QA, UX, product, operations, infrastructure, DevOps, security, database teams, vendors, and third-party partners.
- Create system diagrams, API and workflow documentation, release plans, reports, demos, and technical specifications.
- Ensure solutions align with accessibility, cybersecurity, compliance, platform, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Support rollout planning, end-user training, adoption monitoring, stakeholder communications, governance forums, and technology working groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Five years of related professional software development experience.
- Full-stack development experience with modern frameworks such as React, .NET, Node.js, and Python.
- Programming experience with TypeScript, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or equivalent languages.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, database design, RESTful API development, and system integration.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms and cloud-native applications.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, monitoring, platform integration, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture.
- Strong system-level thinking, debugging, design, analytical, leadership, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to design scalable enterprise-wide solutions, automate deployment pipelines, tune performance, and deliver maintainable user-friendly software.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Developer Associate, similar cloud certification, or DevOps Foundation Certification.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to provide a 10-year driving history.
- Must be able to pass and maintain eligibility for required national fingerprint-based records checks when the position involves access to criminal justice databases.
