Responsibilities
- Define, measure, and manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to ensure system reliability.
- Lead incident response, troubleshoot complex system issues, and conduct blameless post-mortems.
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and distributed tracing strategies.
- Maintain and scale Jenkins and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and build automation to reduce toil.
- Debug and resolve application and platform issues running on Kubernetes and Docker.
- Monitor performance, forecast resource requirements, and scale infrastructure to meet demand.
- Integrate security practices, compliance controls, and automated vulnerability remediation into the platform.
- Create documentation, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans while promoting SRE best practices.
- Partner with product and platform teams to build reliable systems and champion an SRE culture.
Requirements
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to lead war rooms and explain complex technical issues.
- Deep understanding of SRE principles, including SLOs, error budgets, toil reduction, and incident management.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience, including diagnosing pods, logs, events, probes, networking, resources, and volumes.
- Solid Linux fundamentals and deep proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Extensive experience with monitoring and logging stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenSearch, plus distributed tracing.
- Practical AWS knowledge covering IAM, VPC and networking fundamentals, EC2, EKS, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Platform experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Git workflows.
- Working knowledge of modern service lifecycles, including Java and Spring Boot or similar technologies.
- Ability to use AI coding and editing tools effectively while maintaining quality.
- Experience with Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, additional AWS services, admission-control tools, software supply-chain controls, chaos engineering, performance testing, or regulated release management is preferred.
- Ownership mindset, proactive learning ability, calmness under pressure, and capacity to operate independently and drive solutions end to end.
