Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable customer-facing ecommerce experiences.
- Drive front-end architecture and hands-on implementation with emphasis on performance, usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Partner with product, design, backend, platform, and engineering leadership on end-to-end solutions.
- Own software delivery from architecture and development through testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Design AI and agentic workflows and promote AI adoption to improve engineering throughput, quality, and reliability.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, influence technical direction, and lead complex engineering initiatives.
- Champion component architecture, test automation, observability, performance optimization, and clean design patterns.
- Own monitoring, alerting, reliability, and incident response for mission-critical systems.
- Reduce technical debt and create documentation such as technical requirements documents, diagrams, technical instructions, and onboarding materials.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including modern ecommerce web experience.
- Deep front-end expertise with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, and modern UI architecture.
- Strong experience building scalable, performant, maintainable customer-facing applications and understanding web performance, accessibility, responsive design, and observability.
- Backend experience with technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or C#, including APIs and distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design, with a proven record of leading engineering teams and delivering production-grade software.
- Hands-on experience using AI toolsets for development productivity and acceleration.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL, as well as NoSQL or document-oriented databases.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, AWS or GCP, and cloud-first architecture.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include large-scale ecommerce front-end architecture, design systems, component libraries, headless or composable commerce, production agentic AI workflows, ecommerce industry experience, and distributed international team experience.
