Responsibilities

  • Design and architect scalable AI/ML and generative AI solutions for grid automation, digitalization, and business efficiency.
  • Establish AI/ML architecture standards, best practices, and technical guidelines across the CTO organization.
  • Build modular, cloud- and edge-ready architectures using containerization, orchestration, autoscaling, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and MLOps pipelines.
  • Design and deploy solutions on GE GridNode edge platforms and optimize model performance in production.
  • Collaborate with product lines, R&D, product management, and other cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities into platforms and products.
  • Monitor AI/ML, generative AI, and energy systems research and industry developments.
  • Evaluate emerging AI/ML tools, platforms, and vendor solutions, and design, execute, and demonstrate proof-of-concepts.
  • Lead complex AI/ML projects from concept through production deployment and provide technical leadership to project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, AI/ML development, and/or architecture roles.
  • Expertise with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn, plus generative AI technologies including LLMs, SLMs, diffusion models, and GANs.
  • Experience with AI/MLOps, CI/CD, cloud-native and on-premises development, and deployment in operational technology or industrial automation environments.
  • Experience using cloud MLOps platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, or Dataiku Cloud.
  • Professional experience developing and testing AI/ML algorithms and working with grid or physics models and power system simulation tools.
  • Experience with DevOps, data pipelines, Azure ML Registry, Docker, Kubernetes, edge computing, IoT deployments, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience across the full AI/ML lifecycle, including data acquisition, data quality and engineering, model selection, evaluation, tuning, testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution.
  • Expertise with GraphDB, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Microsoft Access.
  • Programming proficiency in Python, C#, or C++, along with scientific programming and simulation tools such as MATLAB or R.
  • Experience with time-series analysis, signal processing, load forecasting, and predictive modeling for energy systems and grid operations.
  • Track record of applying research insights to commercial solutions and balancing innovation with practical, business, and critical-infrastructure constraints.

Benefits

  • Canadian-based positions offer a base pay range of $126,000 to $189,000 CAD annually.
  • Discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
  • The role reports to the Director of Data Analytics and AI Solutions within the Grid Automation CTO organization and collaborates across GE Vernova product, R&D, and business functions.
