Base Salary
$320k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build sandboxed compute environments for safe code execution, tool access, and interaction with external services.
- Build state-management systems for long-running agent tasks with checkpointing, recovery, and resumption across failures.
- Develop authentication and authorization frameworks for delegated access on behalf of users.
- Create observability and debugging tools to understand agent execution and improve system behavior.
- Partner with product and research teams to define and ship agentic capabilities.
- Shape architecture for greenfield infrastructure and help improve Claude’s reliability and delivery velocity.
Requirements
- Experience building distributed systems, infrastructure, or platform services at scale.
- Experience building cloud-native infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with containers, sandboxing, or secure execution environments such as gVisor, Firecracker, or V8 isolates.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code in Python, Go, Rust, or a similar language.
- Care about security, isolation, and systems that fail safely.
- Preferred: experience with multi-tenant execution platforms or serverless infrastructure.
- Preferred: background in security engineering, sandboxing, or isolation technologies.
- Preferred: familiarity with Temporal, Airflow, or Step Functions.
- Preferred: experience with state machines, checkpointing, or durable execution patterns.
- Preferred: low-level systems experience including Linux internals, eBPF, or container runtimes.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience is required.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range of $320,000-$485,000 USD.
- Hybrid policy requiring staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
