Responsibilities
- Define software and component architectures for complex, mission-critical Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems products.
- Contribute to overall systems architecture, requirements, architectural patterns, and enterprise reuse opportunities.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical specifications, design patterns, and other comprehensive documentation.
- Design solutions integrating existing systems and third-party services.
- Oversee low-level software design and participate in reviews to ensure adherence to architectural standards.
- Evaluate scalability, reliability, performance parameters, and other key system characteristics.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to software staff on architecture concerns.
- Perform trade studies and technology selection.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 15 years of applicable experience.
- Experience designing distributed systems and developing in multiple programming languages such as C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration.
- Experience with distributed and multiagent systems, emergent behaviors, publish-subscribe and data-centric architectures such as DDS, and real-time and event-based systems.
- Experience developing mission-critical software and building Modular Open Systems Architectures.
- United States citizenship.
- Desired qualifications include experience with Enterprise Architect, Cameo, UML, SysML, defense frameworks, combat systems, sensor fusion, process engineering, secure environments, AI/ML, data science, prognostics, Proxmox, Ansible, GitLab, Jira, and Jenkins.
- Experience designing for security and mitigating vulnerabilities and attack surface is desired.
