
Senior Software Engineer - Roku

- Design, develop, and maintain client-side features for CNN’s Roku streaming application.
- Contribute to Connected TV technical strategy, architecture, engineering best practices, development tools, and technologies.
- Build scalable and reliable solutions for CNN’s streaming platform.
- Support test automation, deployment, and production releases for Roku applications.
- Write technical documentation, conduct code reviews, and troubleshoot complex software issues.
- Partner with Product, Design, Delivery, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement product initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and releasing software products and services.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or Python, with essential experience in BrightScript and SceneGraph.
- Expertise with Git and GitHub and familiarity with CI/CD pipeline technologies.
- Strong understanding of coding best practices, unit testing, and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
