Base Salary
$193k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build the next-generation AWS Neuron compiler that transforms ML models for deployment on AWS Inferentia and Trainium servers.
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software that improves compiler performance, stability, and user experience.
- Create compiler optimization and verification passes, expose AWS accelerator capabilities to developers, and build numerical-error analysis tools.
- Resolve compiler defects and optimize workloads including large language models, stable diffusion, vision transformers, and multimodal models.
- Collaborate with chip architects, runtime and operating-system engineers, scientists, ML application teams, and other Neuron SDK teams.
- Participate in pre-silicon design, design discussions, code reviews, and bringing new products and features to market.
- Engage with open-source communities and external stakeholders, including responding to compiler questions in GitHub forums.
- Mentor others or lead engineering design and architecture efforts.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: compiler experience or experience building ML models with ML frameworks on accelerators such as GPUs.
- Preferred: experience with C++, Java, OpenXLA, StableHLO, or MLIR.
