Responsibilities
- Design and implement operating system constructs for intelligent resource management.
- Develop scheduling policies that balance power, performance, and feature latency.
- Build APIs to support adoption of scheduling and operating system concepts by client teams.
- Analyze performance data from large fleets of devices and use insights to guide system design and adoption practices.
- Develop and experiment with on-device software across Apple operating systems.
- Lead software projects from inception through delivery while working across teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience after a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming background and technical skills.
- Clear understanding of operating system components and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with statistics and data analysis for deriving insights from large datasets.
- Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with strong systems understanding.
- Preferred: knowledge of operating system internals, including memory management, resource contention, thread and process lifecycles, and file systems.
- Preferred: experience identifying and driving power and performance optimizations.
- Preferred: familiarity with C/C++, Objective-C, Swift, and Python for data analysis.
- Preferred: experience influencing adoption of platform APIs or OS-level policies across client teams.
