$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed-system components supporting horizontal and vertical scaling, large-scale processing, and high-volume data operations.
- Build fault-tolerant and recovery-oriented systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop performance, load, fault-injection, brown-out, and functional tests to validate scalability, correctness, availability, and resilience.
- Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect, diagnose, and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, develop troubleshooting automation, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance standards, documentation practices, and change-management procedures.
- Maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation tools for cloud infrastructure patching, updates, rollbacks, and operational maintenance.
- Track timelines, prioritize work, collaborate across teams, solve technical problems, and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience focused on distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, scalability, reliability, and operability.
- Experience designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems with replication, synchronization, failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Experience with performance and load testing, monitoring, telemetry, alerting, operational troubleshooting, runbooks, and incident response.
- Ability to develop automation and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure management and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of security controls such as encryption and access management, as well as compliance, documentation, and change-management practices.
- Ability to review implementations for scalability, work with limited supervision, collaborate across teams, and address standard and non-standard technical issues.
