Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain core or application-specific embedded software for automotive electronic module serial-production projects.
- Define and document software architecture and make technical trade-offs while supporting system requirements negotiations and approving engineering work products.
- Create and maintain software schedules, effort estimates, milestones, work products, and delivery plans.
- Manage day-to-day activities of the project software team and provide technical guidance and leadership.
- Release software deliverables and supporting documentation, including release notes, software test reports, and first-article materials.
- Manage software risks, report project status, prepare mitigation and contingency plans, and execute corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvements to products, processes, and programs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in software engineering.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in serial development for automotive software.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a software leadership role is desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems on MCU or ARM platforms.
- Strong technical background and comprehensive working knowledge of embedded C/C++ development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of configuration management, project planning, and tracking techniques.
- Prior experience leading a global team is preferred.
- Involvement in successful launches of automotive software products is preferred.
- Deep and comprehensive working knowledge of structured problem solving and engineering methodologies.
