Responsibilities
- Build and maintain an internal skills marketplace and AI tool distribution platform for Xero engineers.
- Develop guidance and best practices for authoring agent skills, including agents for remediation tasks.
- Own solutions from early experimentation through production, including runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
- Shape the technical direction of AI enablement platforms and tooling across the engineering organisation.
- Collaborate with AWS, Microsoft, and GitHub on early-access technology.
- Guide and respectfully challenge a team that is early in its AI journey.
Requirements
- Hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with C#, .NET, and AWS.
- Experience building internal tools or platforms relied upon by other engineers.
- Ability to apply production discipline through runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to bring stakeholders along with technical ideas.
- Curiosity about coding agents and AI-native tools, with an interest in the direction of AI engineering.
- Ability to challenge decisions directly and respectfully and learn in a structured, quality-focused way.
