Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical strategy across Link Consumer.
- Lead large, ambiguous initiatives from problem definition and architecture through implementation, launch, and iteration.
- Design, build, and maintain user experiences, backend services, APIs, and systems.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and foundational investments while creating incremental delivery plans.
- Partner with engineering teams across Stripe to align shared capabilities, roadmaps, and priorities.
- Establish code patterns and standards across React, JavaScript, CSS, GraphQL, Ruby APIs, and LLM-powered systems.
- Ensure UI and backend components are reliable, secure, extensible, and accessible.
- Define operational processes, lead production issue response, and drive remediations that reduce risk.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend and/or full-stack software development experience owning large, ambiguous systems end-to-end.
- Experience leading the design and delivery of large, complex software projects from definition through production launch.
- Strong full-stack engineering skills, including reliable backend services and polished user-facing experiences.
- Experience leading and unblocking engineers on a substantial project as a senior individual contributor.
- Ability to frame ambiguous problems, make durable technical decisions, and create actionable plans.
- Strong cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
- Strong judgment around reliability, operational excellence, security, and maintainability.
- A product-minded approach focused on meaningful user and business outcomes.
- Preferred: experience with Java, Ruby, and/or TypeScript.
- Preferred: experience with payments, money movement, fintech, regulated financial products, consumer products at scale, or 0-to-1 product development.
- Preferred: familiarity with LLM-powered products, evaluations, or agentic assistants.
