Senior / Staff+
Responsibilities
- Administer and support SQL Server databases across on-premises and Azure IaaS environments.
- Manage Azure SQL PaaS offerings, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Design and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Perform database upgrades and migrations as required.
- Monitor database performance and resolve bottlenecks.
- Implement security best practices and manage access control.
- Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery drills.
- Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams for database design.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts.
- Support cloud database platforms like Azure SQL and Snowflake.
- Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
- Maintain accurate database documentation and operational standards.
- Administer Snowflake data warehouse environments.
- Support Azure Cosmos DB management.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Strong experience with SQL Server (2017–2022+) and Azure SQL services.
- Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience with HA/DR solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of database security and encryption techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake architecture and administration.
- Experience with Azure Cosmos DB management.
- Familiarity with ITIL aligned environments for incident and change management.
- Exposure to DevOps / CI CD practices is a plus.
