Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure applications in Government Commercial Cloud and Commercial Cloud environments.
- Modernize existing services through refactoring, re-platforming, API enablement, and progressive cloud migration.
- Develop front-end and back-end application components, APIs, databases, interfaces, and integrations.
- Build and enhance cloud-native AWS services using managed services, microservices, event-driven patterns, SQL, and containerization technologies.
- Build and improve deployment automation, software development and testing automation, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
- Perform application configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, enhancements, defect resolution, and deployment verification throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct code reviews, apply secure coding practices, and remediate vulnerabilities and technical debt.
- Conduct unit testing, system integration testing, and support user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, performance, and security issues and document resolutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, application design specifications, deployment guides, operational runbooks, support procedures, and user guides.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, solution architects, vendors, and technical teams on application solutions.
- Support proof-of-concept initiatives, emerging-technology evaluation, task tracking, release planning, and procurement activities.
- Review applications and recommend improvements to functionality, performance, maintainability, security, and user experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer or Information Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications in cloud environments.
- Experience developing front-end and back-end components, APIs, and system integrations.
- Experience building cloud-native services on AWS using managed services, microservices, event-driven patterns, SQL, RESTful APIs, and containerization technologies.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release processes.
- Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps environments across estimation, design, delivery, deployment, and operational support.
- Experience evaluating and applying AI-assisted software engineering tools.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available, and resilient application solutions.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, secure coding, application performance, system reliability, application architecture, databases, middleware, integration technologies, and cloud-native development.
- Knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux, application hosting platforms, and network principles with security considerations.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and explaining technical concepts.
- Familiarity with public-sector projects and policies such as IM8, cybersecurity, data security, and Government Commercial Cloud requirements is advantageous.
- Relevant technology certifications are preferred.
