Base Salary
$180k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own threat modeling and secure architecture across multi-tenant training infrastructure, sandboxes, APIs, internal tooling, distributed GPU clusters, and cloud infrastructure.
- Design and implement zero-trust networking, identity and access controls, tenant isolation, secure defaults, secrets management, supply-chain protections, and container hardening.
- Develop AI infrastructure security frameworks covering model weights, training data, checkpoints, gradients, RL training loops, prompt injection, model exfiltration, and adversarial environments.
- Manage external penetration tests and build an internal automated and manual red-teaming practice.
- Drive vulnerability triage, remediation service-level agreements, root-cause analysis, security monitoring, alerting, runtime security, incident response, drills, post-mortems, audit logging, and forensics.
- Lead SOC 2 Type II readiness and other enterprise compliance efforts, and own customer-facing security questionnaires, architecture reviews, and trust documentation.
- Build the company’s security program as the first dedicated security hire and partner with engineering, research, leadership, and go-to-market teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or offensive security roles, ideally with multi-tenant cloud or compute infrastructure.
- Deep experience with cloud security, preferably GCP, Kubernetes security, and container runtime hardening.
- Hands-on ability to read, write, and audit Python and Rust or another strong systems-level language.
- Experience with distributed-systems network security, including service meshes, mTLS, and network segmentation across heterogeneous hardware.
- Proven experience managing external penetration tests and translating findings into engineering action.
- Strong fundamentals in cryptography, identity and access management, and secure software development lifecycles.
- Preferred qualifications include GPU infrastructure or ML training pipeline security, offensive security activities, AI-specific threat models, building startup security programs, SOC 2, ISO 27001 or FedRAMP compliance, open-source security tooling contributions, and familiarity with eBPF or Falco.
