Responsibilities
- Provide technology direction for the architecture and design of security-related initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor and decision-maker on complex, ambiguous cybersecurity problems across security domains.
- Set security engineering strategy, define technical roadmaps, and support secure-by-design delivery with product and technology teams.
- Mentor security specialists, improve engineering mechanisms, introduce best practices, and drive architectural improvements.
- Promote collaboration and technical direction across teams, functions, and products.
- Partner with senior leadership and principals on strategic initiatives that strengthen the security control environment.
- Identify improvement opportunities, champion innovation, and assess industry trends, emerging technologies, and threat actor tactics.
- Contribute as a cybersecurity technology thought leader within and outside the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and/or software development, including at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Deep expertise across multiple cybersecurity domains, including application, data, endpoint, network, identity and access management, detection engineering, threat intelligence, incident response, and third-party risk management.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, modern system design patterns, and cloud service provider security strategies.
- Proven ability to design and operate scalable, resilient systems in production environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven leadership in mentoring security specialists and building technical communities.
- Bilingualism is required for candidates in Quebec because the role regularly interacts with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience is required.
