Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition, design, architecture quality, implementation, and delivery of complex cross-cutting software challenges across ATS.
  • Establish strategy and execution plans to converge legacy carrier systems while supporting coexistence with new systems in production.
  • Align teams and senior stakeholders around a coherent technical vision and ensure systems fit together effectively.
  • Influence multiple teams, improve their productivity, uphold high technical standards, and make difficult trade-off decisions.
  • Design scalable solutions for transportation functions including package labeling, sorting, sort-center processing, line haul, air delivery, and last-mile delivery.
  • Mentor senior and Principal engineers, institutionalize best practices, recruit talent, and advocate for future organizational skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 8+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java or C++.
  • 8+ years contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a senior Principal Engineer leading multiple software engineering teams preferred.
  • Experience shipping successful large-scale supply-chain projects preferred.
  • Experience partnering with Research Science or Machine Learning experts to drive optimization using current techniques preferred.
