Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and continuously improve Kubernetes infrastructure on Amazon EKS, including Karpenter-based autoscaling, workload scheduling, and cluster lifecycle management.
- Administer and tune PostgreSQL databases on RDS for platform applications such as Airflow, including configuration, parameter tuning, maintenance, and reliability.
- Provision, modify, and audit AWS resources using Terraform, including S3, EC2, RDS, EKS, and IAM.
- Manage AWS IAM roles, policies, and access patterns with a security-first approach.
- Maintain ECR and Artifactory artifact registries, including retention policies, image versioning, and container image vulnerability remediation.
- Own and evolve Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch monitoring and observability systems.
- Support Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions source-control and CI/CD environments during the tooling migration.
- Collaborate with data engineers on infrastructure patterns, containerization standards, and deployment practices.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for platform-level incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps in production environments.
- Deep production Kubernetes expertise, ideally with Amazon EKS, including autoscaling, networking, and daily operations.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Strong AWS experience with EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM.
- Experience administering PostgreSQL or similar relational databases in cloud environments, including configuration, workload-specific tuning, and operational maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps delivery workflows.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation such as OpenSearch.
- Familiarity with artifact management, container image lifecycle management, and vulnerability remediation workflows.
- Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions or similar repository and CI/CD solutions.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting and automation.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and comfort operating cloud-native production systems.
