Base Salary
$184k - $257k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement ML compiler infrastructure, including intermediate representations, optimization passes, and code generation for custom AI accelerators.
- Design compiler transformations based on GPU, TPU, and edge AI accelerator hardware constraints.
- Develop LLVM/MLIR-based toolchains that compile PyTorch models into optimized binaries for custom silicon.
- Collaborate with hardware architects to co-design compiler features that improve performance, power efficiency, and programmability.
- Improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and extensibility of compiler toolchains for new hardware targets.
- Lead technical roadmapping and cross-team execution for compiler infrastructure initiatives while mentoring engineers.
- Conduct design and code reviews, evaluate performance, and resolve compiler and cross-disciplinary system issues.
- Work with PyTorch and ExecuTorch compiler teams to evaluate and integrate innovations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience developing compilers, toolchains, or code-optimization software.
- Experience with LLVM, MLIR, or similar compiler infrastructure frameworks.
- Experience designing intermediate representations and implementing compiler optimization passes.
- Experience with GPU, TPU, or custom AI accelerator architectures.
- C++ software development experience for compiler and systems-level programming.
- Experience leading end-to-end technical design and delivery of compiler infrastructure initiatives across multiple teams.
- Preferred: experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow at the system level and with software/hardware co-design involving silicon architecture teams.
- Preferred: experience with ExecuTorch, TensorRT, XLA, or similar ML compilation and deployment frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with machine-code generation, compiler backends, edge or on-device inference, and power/performance optimization for resource-constrained devices.
- Preferred: demonstrated AI skill development, responsible AI practices, and use of AI tools to improve workflows.
