Responsibilities
- Design and integrate secure communications protocols and application security mechanisms for aerospace software.
- Implement authentication, authorization, input validation, encryption, and other security controls.
- Perform threat modeling, risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, code reviews, static and dynamic analysis, and penetration testing.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security automation and continuous security validation into development pipelines.
- Investigate application-level attacks, support incident response and forensic investigations, and recommend remediation strategies.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
- Maintain awareness of emerging cybersecurity and aerospace threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and best practices.
- Support cross-functional cybersecurity initiatives and apply agile project management practices throughout project lifecycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or related fields.
- Demonstrated success in secure software development, particularly in aerospace or other regulated industries.
- Experience with application security principles, cryptography, secure coding standards, security testing, and systems programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, or similar.
- Knowledge of FISMA, CMMC, NIST, AES, FIPS 140-2/3, zero trust architectures, secure boot, hardware roots of trust, network protocols, and hardware security modules or cryptographic key management.
- Familiarity with the SPARTA framework, DO-178C, Linux software development environments, and aerospace or defense programs.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GWEB, OSCP, or CSSLP are highly valued.
- Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, judgment, adaptability, and ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
- Must complete a U.S. government background investigation and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed for critical project milestones.
