Software Systems Engineer - Luxury Audio

- Oversee multiple software projects from concept through production and coordinate delivery with project managers.
- Plan, design, document, and review software requirements and development plans for audio systems.
- Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver products, features, bug fixes, companion apps, and software tools.
- Lead systems design reviews and prepare project reports and technical documentation.
- Provide hands-on support for embedded software development, troubleshooting, coaching, and software delivery best practices.
- Ensure designs meet quality, compliance, and performance standards while driving innovation in audio system design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent work experience in a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in system-level development of high-performance consumer audio systems and the related competitive market.
- Experience managing embedded software development projects, including Jira, and driving software delivery best practices.
- Strong C and C++ skills with the ability to troubleshoot code and contribute hands-on when needed.
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems, Bare Metal, RTOS, and RS-232, I2C, SPI, and USB protocols.
- Experience with Git and modern software design, build, delivery, and management practices in commercial products.
- Ability to debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, emulators, and simulators.
- Knowledge of high-resolution audio formats, streaming technologies, and audio compression techniques.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, attention-to-detail, and audio-quality-focused skills.
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject is preferred.
- Linux systems, including boot, kernel, and ALSA; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and TCP/IP; Flutter; audio A/D and D/A converters; automated test procedures; and audio measurement experience are preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work on-site in Cambridge, UK.
