Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate software supporting vision-based navigation, autonomy, cooperative behaviors, and mission systems.
- Design and implement systems in modern C++ and Kotlin.
- Develop cross-platform applications for Android, Linux, and Windows to control robotic platforms.
- Design SDK interfaces and APIs for internal and external integration with AV systems.
- Conduct hands-on field testing with robots to validate features.
- Translate software requirements into algorithm designs and evaluate product design tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with software teams to reuse developed software across programs.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Occasionally travel for customer or testing events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong fluency in modern C++, maintainable software architecture, and modular system design.
- Experience evaluating product design tradeoffs and translating them into clear system requirements.
- Hands-on knowledge of CMake or similar build systems.
- Experience developing software for mechatronic or hardware-integrated systems.
- Knowledge of computer networking topologies, protocols, and principles.
- Experience with or familiarity in robotics, UAS, drones, autonomous vehicles, embedded systems, safety-critical software, Android/Linux application development, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, FastDDS, gRPC, MQTT, APIs, or SDKs is preferred.
- Ability to engage with technical and non-technical customers and leverage AI tooling to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance if required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must satisfy applicable ITAR/EAR U.S. person requirements.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
