Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining robust software architectures and applications for automated test stations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to translate system requirements into software specifications and improve performance, usability, and integration.
- Work with ARINC 429, IEEE-1394, MIL-STD-1553, UART, RS-422, and fiber-optic-based avionics and communication interfaces.
- Write software documentation including user guides, technical specifications, design records, and release notes.
- Develop clean, maintainable code in C++ or other object-oriented programming languages while following safe coding practices and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- 0–1 year of hands-on software development experience involving software design, implementation, and testing.
- Basic understanding of software development toolchains such as SVN or Git.
- Proficiency in Visual Studio .NET development using C++ or C#.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering, integration, and test teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, aerospace software internship or co-op experience, experience with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and digital/analog I/O instrumentation, embedded systems or hardware-software integration experience, Python scripting, and an active Secret-or-higher U.S. Government security clearance.
