Base Salary

$196k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction of KMC/PSS, App Builder, Connector, and related platform services.
  • Own and deliver major subscription-service initiatives such as self-service SAML SSO and administrative workflows.
  • Define and maintain platform contracts across APIs, data models, events, and RBAC patterns.
  • Architect and deploy MCP tooling and autonomous agents for interoperability between internal systems and AI models.
  • Build and operate secure, reliable, maintainable, and cost-efficient APIs and microservices.
  • Define monitoring, alerting, and observability practices and participate in the production on-call rotation.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex cross-system incidents affecting platform services and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with product, solution architects, forward-deployed engineers, customer success, and other customer-facing teams.
  • Mentor engineers and improve developer experience through documentation, debugging tools, and AI-powered engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • Expert-level backend engineering experience building and operating APIs and microservices at scale, preferably with Python and FastAPI.
  • Experience designing and evolving authentication, authorization, organizations, accounts, subscriptions, or similar control-plane primitives in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
  • Profound experience with AWS core services and architecting secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and workflow tools including Snowflake, Airflow, and Spark.
  • Understanding of observability across distributed systems, including metrics, logs, traces, and events.
  • Ability to balance performance, cost, maintainability, reliability, and developer experience in system designs.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex cross-team projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, and Gemini and integrating LLM-based workflows into software development.
  • Experience with data privacy requirements such as HIPAA or GDPR is prioritized.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Snowflake, and Redshift is prioritized.
  • Experience supporting internal and external developers through SDKs, CLIs, and self-service tooling is prioritized.
  • AWS cloud infrastructure certification is a plus.
