Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate AI Gateway components covering identity, authorization, token budgets, DLP, content guardrails, model routing, MCP allow-listing, and audit logging.
- Build Harness capabilities for agent orchestration, prompt and context construction, memory and state management, and model abstraction across providers.
- Develop production LLM-powered services in Python, FastAPI, and pydantic.ai, and contribute to React and TypeScript platform surfaces.
- Implement MCP and tool integrations for internal and SaaS-embedded agents under shared policy controls.
- Build, test, and harden Claude and Gemini Enterprise plugins, including their authoring, evaluation, and deployment pipeline.
- Instrument platform services with metrics, tracing, and audit trails; participate in on-call and operational support.
- Document technical designs, participate in architecture and code reviews, and maintain high standards for quality, security, and maintainability.
- Partner with Enterprise Data, Enterprise Apps, Product Development, and Infosec on governed data integrations and architectural contracts.
- Use model evaluation results to inform model selection, prompt tuning, and routing decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience building or operating AI and ML infrastructure in production.
- Hands-on experience building production services for multiple consumers, such as API gateways, internal platforms, or data platforms, with exposure to authentication, authorization, rate limiting, observability, or audit logging.
- Practical experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph and hosted model providers such as AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex.
- Strong Python skills, ideally with FastAPI, and willingness to work with pydantic.ai; familiarity with React and TypeScript is a plus.
- Working understanding of context windows, memory, and tool calling in production systems.
- Exposure to or curiosity about the Model Context Protocol and governing agent tool access across enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI deployments such as Claude Enterprise or Gemini Enterprise is a plus.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including production-grade code, API design, testing, and architecture and code reviews.
- Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast-moving platform environment.
