Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software running under embedded Linux on resource-constrained microprocessor-based systems.
- Carry software design tasks from concept through implementation and production.
- Document engineering requirements and solutions.
- Test firmware and debug and troubleshoot issues in complex systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to test and troubleshoot issues.
- Apply AI and agentic coding tools where appropriate to accelerate software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or engineering and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with software design, development, debugging, the Software Development Life Cycle, version control, and bug tracking.
- Experience with unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Software development experience for embedded Linux systems.
- Strong understanding of C/C++ programming, operating systems, real-time control, multithreading, inter-process communication, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Ruby, Lua, or Python.
- Familiarity with GCC, GDB, GNU Make, and cross-compilation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AI and agentic coding tools is a bonus.
- Exposure to ARM-based microcontroller systems is a bonus.
- Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence is desired.
- Experience integrating Zigbee, Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, or powerline carrier communication protocols is a bonus.
- Experience with solar, energy storage, or microgrid products is a bonus.
