Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate the data warehouse and transformation layer, including schema design, performance, and cost management.
- Build and operate reliable data ingestion pipelines.
- Design and own data models supporting usage metering and billing.
- Establish and maintain BI and reporting for leadership, product, and go-to-market teams.
- Set standards for data quality, testing, documentation, and monitoring.
- Partner with the CTO and business stakeholders to define instrumentation and translate ambiguous questions into effective data models.
- Provide technical direction and influence while writing production code and establishing architecture.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and operating a production data warehouse and transformation layer using Snowflake, dbt, Redshift, or comparable technologies.
- Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools, including underlying data models and business metric definitions.
- Prior experience supporting a billing system and understanding the impact of inaccurate billing data.
- Strong production experience with Python and advanced SQL.
- Experience taking ambiguous problems through to resolution and handling broad ownership.
- Interest in leading through technical direction and influence rather than headcount management.
- A product mindset and ability to partner with product and business stakeholders.
- Front-end experience for internal tools and reporting interfaces is a bonus.
