Responsibilities
- Own a versioned, tested infrastructure-as-code module library with clear ownership, change control, and automated quality gates.
- Build and improve self-service provisioning paths for product teams, measuring adoption and iterating on the platform.
- Embed reliability into delivery through service level objectives, dashboards, and default alerting.
- Implement shift-left security using policy as code, least privilege, secrets handling, secure-by-default templates, and supply-chain awareness.
- Manage cloud-cost allocation and commitment decisions as an engineering responsibility.
- Lead open-ended platform initiatives through durable outcomes, multi-quarter goals, and design documentation.
- Participate in the team on-call rotation and improve alerting and incident response.
Requirements
- Substantial production experience running multi-account AWS environments at scale, including identity and networking discipline.
- Deep hands-on experience owning production Kubernetes cluster lifecycles, upgrades, autoscaling, and failure debugging.
- Advanced Terraform experience authoring and versioning modules, making state-management decisions, and operating orchestration or automation layers.
- Practical experience with declarative GitOps delivery and reconciliation-based operations.
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines used by other engineers, including self-hosted runners or build agents.
- Experience managing trusted alerting systems and responding to and resolving incidents.
- Strong Shell scripting skills plus Python or Go experience, with knowledge of least privilege, secrets handling, and software supply-chain security.
- Experience and enthusiasm for using agentic AI workflows to improve developer experience.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
