Responsibilities
- Work with customers to understand technical needs and define software and hardware choices for the big data platform and data lake.
- Design, build, deploy, scale, and support resilient core infrastructure across hardware, software, and customer-facing applications.
- Administer Kubernetes clusters and deploy, optimize, and troubleshoot Kubernetes applications.
- Automate system builds, deployment, maintenance, auditing, patching, and updates.
- Manage distributed storage, monitoring, capacity planning, and expansion of system capabilities.
- Support platform users, improve inefficient ways of working, and investigate best-of-breed technologies for cyber security analysts.
- Develop junior team members, create training plans, and contribute to knowledge-sharing activities.
Requirements
- Linux system administration experience.
- Knowledge of big data technologies and data lakes.
- Experience setting up, configuring, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience deploying applications, optimizing application resilience, and troubleshooting Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience with distributed storage such as Ceph.
- Experience developing and using Helm charts and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Fleet.
- Experience with system monitoring tools such as CheckMK, Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki.
- Experience building and deploying Docker containers.
- Experience automating system deployment with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Familiarity with Trino, Spark, Apache Hive, Apache Airflow, and Zeppelin notebooks is desirable.
- Must be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance before starting and have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.
