
Software Engineer II – AI Engineer (w/ skills in AI Data Privacy, Security & Governance Specialty)

Responsibilities
- Design and implement PII/PHI detection, redaction, anonymization, and data-minimization controls.
- Build security guardrails for prompt-injection defense, jailbreak prevention, output filtering, and responsible AI use.
- Establish registration, approval, governance, and lifecycle management processes for plugins, skills, agents, and agent tools.
- Review third-party AI plugins, skills, and tools for security, privacy, and compliance risks.
- Define authentication, access controls, and least-privilege permissions for AI components.
- Implement autonomous-agent guardrails including action scoping, tool-use restrictions, sandboxing, and human approval.
- Apply data classification, retention, and residency policies across generative AI data flows.
- Monitor AI systems for policy violations, data leakage, and anomalous plugin, skill, or agent behavior.
- Maintain audit trails and logging for AI component activity and support observability practices.
- Support compliance with GDPR, CCPA, the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and OWASP LLM Top 10 guidance.
- Provide Level II production support for privacy, security, and governance incidents.
- Support incident response through containment, escalation, remediation, and related forensic activities.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in IT or a related field.
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience and at least 1 year of experience in AI security, data privacy, or governance.
- Experience with AI coding agent-augmented development and building and securing applications.
- Experience with privacy techniques including PII detection, redaction, and anonymization.
- Experience with at least one of Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD practices, SDLC, APIs, system architecture, databases, and data integration.
- Understanding of LLM fundamentals, token behavior, security guardrails, prompt-injection defenses, and jailbreak defenses.
- Experience governing plugins, skills, and agents through registration and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, authentication, least-privilege design, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with logging, tracing, audit trails, and observability practices.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Preferred qualifications include AI governance platforms, policy-as-code frameworks, secrets management, encryption, DLP, LLM red-teaming, adversarial testing, content moderation, output safety filtering, and security incident handling.

- Annual discretionary bonus eligibility and a stated base salary range of $85,000.00–$124,000.00.
