Base Salary

$140k - $223k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software in constrained timing and memory environments to prototype new storage innovations.
  • Design and implement reusable firmware code, debug and root-cause issues, and validate firmware architectures and implementations.
  • Develop firmware algorithms and mechanisms for FTL and mapping strategies, garbage collection, workload optimization, performance quality of service, and data placement.
  • Collaborate with architects and IP leads to define firmware scope and implementation details.
  • Create metrics, collect data, analyze technical tradeoffs, and recommend firmware architecture and implementation approaches.
  • Perform unit and integration testing to validate code viability, coverage, and quality.
  • Potentially perform system-level design modeling, systems integration, algorithm modeling, benchmarking implementation, and digital signal processing.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software or firmware development, integration, and validation experience in embedded systems.
  • Programming experience with C/C++ in embedded firmware environments.
  • Experience developing firmware for real-time operating systems with hardware and software interactions.
  • Experience with firmware development tools including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred proficiency in Python and Linux scripting for data parsing, automation, and processing.
  • Preferred experience with enterprise fabric and storage interface protocols such as PCIe, NVMe, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and InfiniBand.
  • Preferred experience with Git and code review systems.
  • Preferred experience with customer requirements definition, unit-test development, project planning, estimation, risk management, and technical assessment.
  • Ability to investigate different technical areas, manage multiple priorities, work independently, collaborate across distributed teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
