Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for the Cash Forecasting platform.
- Contribute to frontend development when needed, including work in React.
- Develop and scale software across a large multi-tenant SaaS codebase.
- Own data-layer responsibilities including schema design, query performance, and data integrity, with emphasis on PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Write and maintain test coverage using RSpec.
- Package and deploy services with Docker within AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Create scripts and tooling for automation, data migrations, and operational efficiency.
- Implement observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting practices.
- Benchmark and profile code to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Participate in the on-call pager rotation under the you-build-it-you-run-it operating model.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of professional software development experience, ideally including backend-leaning full-stack work.
- Strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on PostgreSQL experience are preferred.
- Experience working safely in large, sophisticated existing codebases.
- Scripting ability for automation and tooling.
- Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
- Proven Git proficiency, including collaborative branching workflows.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Java.
- Experience using AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience testing with RSpec.
- Ruby or Ruby on Rails experience is strongly preferred.
- Frontend experience, ideally with React, is preferred.
- AWS experience or a solid understanding of AWS is preferred.
- Experience with multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with observability practices and tools, performance benchmarking and profiling, or financial-industry systems such as treasury, payments, FX, or ERP is preferred.
